The blood facial is a combination of a microneedling with the application of PRP (platelet-rich plasma). The PRP is derived from the serum portion of the blood, which contains platelets. The blood is your own so no risks. The platelets contain high levels of growth factors, which, when applied to the skin, will stimulate cell turnover. This helps the skin function optimally, increasing everything from collagen to elastin, while also bringing antioxidant and hydrating properties.
Patients with premature wrinkles, high levels of solar damage, or anyone who wants an even tone, fresher appearance to their skin and firmer skin are ideal candidates for the procedure for blood facial. As well as patients with acne scars.
The procedure for blood facial is extremely safe when the only FDA approved microneedling device on the market, the SkinPen by Bellus Medical, is used. Only one tube (about two tablespoons) of blood is drawn up from the patient. That blood is process to extract the Platelet rich plasma used in conjunction with the microneedling. The patient can expect to feel and look like a sunburn for 24 hours, with dry skin for a few days.
Multiple treatments may be needed for optimal results and they should be performed no more than once a month.

What Is a Blood Facial (PRP Facial)?
A blood facial is a skin treatment that uses Platelet-Rich Plasma taken from your own blood. First, a small blood sample is drawn. Then, it is processed to separate the platelets. After that, the PRP is applied to the skin or injected into targeted areas.
Because platelets contain growth factors, they help stimulate collagen and skin repair. As a result, skin becomes firmer, smoother, and more even over time.
A blood facial can help improve:
- Fine lines and wrinkles
- Acne scars
- Uneven skin tone
- Sun damage
- Dull or tired skin
- Loss of firmness
Why Patients Choose a Blood Facial for Skin Rejuvenation
Many patients want natural skin improvement without synthetic products. That is why blood facials are so popular. The treatment uses your body’s own healing cells to refresh the skin.
A blood facial offers:
- Natural collagen stimulation
- Improved skin texture and tone
- Brighter skin appearance
- Minimal downtime
- Gradual, long-lasting results
Because collagen continues to rebuild, skin keeps improving for months after treatment.

How a Blood Facial Works
PRP works by using your body’s own growth factors to repair the skin. These growth factors help boost collagen and improve blood flow. Over time, skin becomes smoother, firmer, and healthier.
PRP also helps skin absorb medical-grade serums more effectively. As a result, overall skin quality continues to improve.
Your Blood Facial Consultation: What to Expect
Your visit begins with a skin evaluation and discussion of your goals. Then, a small blood sample is taken and processed. The PRP is applied or injected into targeted areas.
The procedure usually takes about 60 minutes. After treatment, mild redness or swelling may appear for one to two days. However, most patients return to normal activities quickly. Meanwhile, results continue to improve over the next few weeks.
Who Can Benefit from a Blood Facial?
Blood facials are ideal for patients with early signs of aging, acne scars, uneven skin tone, or dull skin. They are also a great option for patients who prefer natural treatments.
Blood facials pair well with microneedling, Botox, dermal fillers, and chemical peels for enhanced results.
What does a blood facial do?
A blood facial stimulates collagen and skin repair. As a result, skin looks smoother, firmer, and brighter.
